St. John Lutheran is now providing in-person as well as virtual services every Sunday. There will be one worship service at 9:30 am. Our service will include music, with hymns sung by the congregation, and anthems by our talented choir along with piano selections. In compliance with CDC guidelines, masks are optional.
Please join us for our Annual Congregational Meeting on February 5 via Zoom at 2:00 pm. A link will be emailed to all members of the congregation prior to the event. At this meeting we will discuss matters of the church and plan for the future.
We will meet at noon every Wednesday through March to explore and discuss the Bible and the role of religion in today's world. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
Our first meeting will be on Ash Wednesday, February 22. We will begin with prayer and imposition of ashes for those who wish to receive them at noon, followed by study for an hour.
We plan to meet every Wednesday from 12 noon- 1:00 pm. Please bring your own lunch. Based on the consensus of the group the Bible Study will resume after Easter on a new topic.

We know downtown Ocean City can get crowded in the summer. We have our own parking lot just a short walk from the church! Just cross the street and walk towards 9th Street to find it.
Parking is easy!
This program involves a series of conversations with professionals from various fields including Financial, Legal, Medical and Church related topics that all focus on "end of life" issues. Last month, our speaker (and church member), Justin Odell met with participants to discuss financial needs such as trust funds, pension and stock portfolio gifts and tax-free giving.
Questions?
Our very own Pastor Kevin Hilgendorf will share his advice about pre-planning your funeral service. What do you want others to know about your last wishes when it comes to a memorial service? You may wish to give your pastor instructions that may include special music, Bible verses or offerings.
"Our future is rooted in today."
In November, 2021 we created a new endowment fund to support the mission and ministries of St. John, and Church Council has committed $10,000 to start the St. John "Cedar Fund." How can you help? Well, you'll notice some extra giving envelopes in the pews, and donations with "Cedar Fund" in the memo line will be gratefully accepted.
Please join us for our weekly Fellowship and Faith Session where we engage in great conversation about our faith as Christians. These Zoom meetings are open to all. We may reference the article below.

St. John Lutheran Church Council voted to donate $1000 to Lutheran Disaster Response to help the people of Ukraine. Lutheran Disaster Response is accompanying our companions in Ukraine, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, as well as such ecumenical partners as Lutheran World Federation and Church World Service, in their humanitarian responses to the crisis. These partners provide refugees with immediate support and supplies such as food, blankets, water and hygiene kits.
