Holy week begins with Palm Sunday, a time when we remember how Christ gave his life for the world. Our 9:30am Sunday service will feature a blessing and distribution of palm branches.

Bible Study- Wednesdays at Noon
New Program for 2023
We will meet at noon every Wednesday through March to explore and discuss the Bible and the role of religion in today's world. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
Weekly Bible Study every Wednesday
We meet every Wednesday from 12 noon- 1:00 pm. Please bring your own lunch. Based on the consensus of the group the Bible Study will resume after Easter on a new topic.

Who We Are
Providing Clean Water
Members of St. John Bible study assembled nine water filters after study on May 8. The filter build kits were obtained through Thrivent in cooperation with Wine to Water a nonprofit organization that supports life and dignity for all through the power of clean water.
Each assembled filter provides 12 people with clean water for 10 years.
The project complimented the current Bible study on caring for creatures and all of God’s creation.
A huge shout out to J & M Elite contractors for coming through for St. John in our hour of need. Our new roof is a beauty!

Our amazing volunteers delivered the items to the Ocean City Food Cupboard.

Thrivent will send the Food Cupboard $500 to further help feed hungry people in our community.

On June 29, St. John of OC welcomed baby Riley into God's family.
Riley's baptism was celebrated by her parents, Edward and Allison, her sponsors, Gia and Nick and many loving family members.
The Sacrament of Holy Baptism was administered on Sunday by The Rev. Kevin Hilgendorf. God bless Riley!
Have a Heart for Veterans
200 boxes of Valentine candy were purchased with the Thrivent Community Impact Card. These boxes were included in gift bags stuffed with goodies and distributed at local Veteran facilities.
The Have a Heart for Veterans project was spearheaded by Kathy Speer, the Housing Administrator of Wesley by the Bay. In the photo is her assistant.

With Gratitude
As we wait in hope and joy for the birth of our Savior, our church is beautifully adorned for the season of Advent and Christmas. These decorations remind us of God's promises fulfilled in Christ and invite us to pause, reflect, and prepare our hearts for His coming.
We are deeply grateful to the many volunteers who shared their time, creativity, and care to decorate our church. Their faithful service helps create a welcoming and worshipful space for our congregation and all who enter during this holy season. A special thank you to Judy Bailey for her continued dedication to St. John Lutheran Church. Thanks be to God for willing hands and joyful hearts.
